Your voice is important! AzAEYC is proud to offer several opportunities for early childhood educators to elevate their voices and to advocate on behalf of young children, families, and the early childhood field.

ECE Advocacy: Elevate your Voice as an ECE Champion

Tuesday, February 9, 2021 | 6:30-7:30 p.m. |Virtual via Zoom

In this webinar, participants will learn about statewide early childhood advocacy efforts, how to contact elected officials, develop ideas on what to say, and how to give feedback on state legislative bills.

A certificate of professional development for 1 hour is available after completing a brief survey. 


Coffee & Conversations: Advancing Equity in Early Childhood

Saturday, February 20, 2021 | 9-11 a.m. | Virtual via Zoom

How can we advocate in specific ways that lead to change and advance equity in early childhood? Join Southern Arizona AEYC and Arizona AEYC, Arizona’s sister affiliates of NAEYC, for a panel discussion framed around two NAEYC Position Statements: Advancing Equity in Early Childhood Education and the revised Developmentally Appropriate Practice statement. Learn more about advancing equity in early childhood and becoming an advocate.

Registration: $5 NAEYC members, $10 non-members.


NAEYC National Public Policy Forum

Sunday, February 28 – Monday, March 1, 2021 | Virtual

Whether you have tons of advocacy experience, or are just starting out, NAEYC’s Public Policy Forum is the place for you to sharpen your advocacy skills and help move a nonpartisan agenda in support of young children and the early childhood education profession! Registration: $100.

Be part of a powerful team working to advance federal early childhood policy. Learn with national policy leaders. Meet with members of Congress and build relationships with their staff and teams. 

In order to register, you must contact Arizona’s State Team Leader to receive registration information and secure your spot. This year, Jennifer Argyros, Vice President of Public Policy on the SAZAEYC Board, is the State Team Leader.

Learn with policy leaders and advocates, explore local and state resources, and refine your skills to be an informed and effective advocate for the Early Childhood Day at the Capitol on March 9 – and beyond!

We are proud to partner with our colleagues at Arizona Town Hall to offer a reflective workshop during this forum around Creating a Vibrant Community – environments that tap human, constructed, and natural capital to thrive and grow together.

Early Childhood Day at the Capitol 2021

This is a vital opportunity to show policymakers how early childhood links to our community priorities and the impact early childhood investments have made across our beautiful state. You can choose to participate in several panel discussions, visit virtually with your legislators, and view a House or Senate committee in action.
